To be honest, I tend to take a lot of my fashion cues from films. There is something honest about seeing clothes actually being worn and used. Clothes in films seem much more practical when they aren’t in the glossy, fantastic pages of my favorite magazine. Moreover, movies are definitely my second love (after fashion, of course). I am a big fan of movies with smart dialogue. So here is a sampling of very fashionable films with very memorable dialogue.

Now it’s your turn. What movies inspire you?
Cheers!

2.) How did you make that post look so good?! It looks like a magazine spread.
3.) I already have A Piece of Cake -AND- The Poisonwood Bible in mind for future posts. I’ve read poisonwood probably 5 times, I love it. And I just read A Piece of Cake recently and could not put it down! Again, great choices!

Great post! My favorite is that I’m, really, in desperate need of Chanel!
To remember my favorite quote is not very easy…but I like Marilyn’s; “Girls who behave rarely make history.”-that can work for fashion, and in real life!

And the Notebook. That whole movies is just so good.

I love your faves, and the influence on fashion they had/have.
I adore anything Tim Burton. Styling in Burton films is always on the over-characterised side and that’s what makes it perfect. Infact Helena Bonham Carter inspires. Always.

What a great post! All these movies have definitely inspired me as well. I got all nostalgic seeing the pic of Clueless… I remember watching that with my best friends when we were teenagers and for the first time we actually considered knee-high socks (I never did get any though). I go ga-ga for a lot of period films such as the Great Gatsby. I just love how people used to dress up even if there wasn’t an occasion. Marie Antoinette’s OTT opulence was amazing as well.

I love all those movies!! They are great fashion inspirations too….gosh I would LOVE to dress like Marie Antionette. Lol.

well, i’ve once watched this tv series, it’s from nickelodeon though, titled unfabulous life, but really, the quote hit the spot! “sometimes, things don’t turn out like we expect them to, but sometimes, they turn out better!”
love that

Fun post! Great job on putting it together. The Notebook and The Devil Wears Prada are on my fav movie list. Def. inspired by the classic 80’s movies like Dirty Dancing and Pretty in Pink.. and then the 90’s movies such as Reality Bites. BTW, love the quotes you chose as well!
