Last night, at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art, an epic film debuted. Hailed by critics as the real-life Devil Wears Prada, fashionistas everywhere have been chomping their OPI polished nails in anticipation for The September Issue that officially comes out on August 28.
Well, folks, I scanned pictures of the premier and I would like to give an overall thumbs down to the fashions I saw on the red carpet. For a movie about the Empress of Fashion (aka Anna Wintour) I would have thought the outfits would have been flawless, fabulous, and anything but ordinary. I was wrong. Overall, I was underwhelmed.
Nevertheless, I made a best and worst list. I mean, they are so fun, I just can’t resist.
Although this dress is nothing extraordinary. It is beautiful and it fits model Jessica White like a gorgeous glove. I also love the popping gold color and the elegant detailing in the back. Oh and those shoes are the ultimate “business in the front; party in the back” style. Check out those fierce pink heels! Also check out that guy staring at her (haha!)
Whew! Those L E G S go on F O R E V E R! Sienna definitely turned heads in this barely there light-blue number. She looks fresh and carefree with minimal makeup and tousled locks. Oh, and those shades… Where can I get a pair, Sienna, dahlin?
Perhaps I am biased. I am not the biggest Renee fan (well, when she is outside of movies, she is an AMAZING actress). Anyway, she is looking a hot mess here. I mean, what is going on with her hair? Who did it? They should be fired. And that dress looks like a metallic tomato. Heavens, Renee! What was going on?! Anyway, her legs are really nice. So I’ll give her that.
Cassie is a very beautiful girl, isn’t she? I wonder who told her it was okay to shave half of her head. But that is only the tip of a very cold and boring iceberg. Black? Black?! This is The September Issue premier. Black is far too safe for an event this monumental. Besides, Cassie is bordering on dominatrix style with this one. And I am confused about the pants and the shoes and why they are connected.

I couldn’t agree with you more! I don’t know why Cassie did that mess to her hair. I give props to people taking fashion to bold new heights, but ugly is ugly and that hairdo is ugly!
I love Jessica White. I think she is gorgeous. I’m not sure if I would have chosen those shoes, but I think they work.
Seriously, I think the most shocking event of the night must be Melania’s all over the place makeup job…you would think she would have a beauty team on staff….
I would love to shorten Jessica’s dress just a bit. Otherwise, I think it’s gorgeous!

I love Sienna Millers dress. She always looks great. Although, her glasses probably weren’t the best choice for the occassion. Loads of celebrities are wearing those sunglasses and I can’t figure out whether I like them or not.

Only Sienna could pair rose colored Lennon glasses with an ice blue mini and make it work. She looks divine. And Jessica’s heels? Pure candy.
I agree with you about Cassie’s hair…it’s something that has irked me since day one. I’m not sure if anyone has the ability to rock such an extreme hairstyle.

the outfits must have been pretty underwhelming if that’s what the best dressed was. i mean the dress is okay. i don’t think it goes very well with the shoes. i’m really excited for the movie! working in fashion sounds like such a dream.

OK, I def. agree with you about everyone. Jessica White is stunning, as is Melania. Talk about being blessed with some great genes. Renee needs to fire her stylist (or get one?!) stat. She rarely looks good on the red carpet. So sad since she is very talented.
