Ugg-ly cold weather fashions we just can’t quit

The weather has turned cold, the leaves are falling, the temperatures are brisk… it is time. Time for those non-water repellant, non-slip resistant, partially wind-proof, and therefore completely impractical wool-lined boots to make their debut.

Despite their totally unchic, unbecoming, and downright u-g-l-y appearance, Ugg boots continue to make an appearance winter after winter.

The uniform is simple: tan uggs; black leggings; oversized tee; long, black feather-down coat if you are from the North and a North Face Denali jacket if you are from the South.

Perhaps women think Uggs are practical, perhaps they find comfort in looking like everyone else, perhaps they are drawn to Uggs because they look kinda cute over leggings and skinny jeans (my favorite way to wear them).

Whatever it is, Uggs aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. We ladies just can’t quit them.

Even if people throw rocks at me for donning uggs, I will continue to wear them. They left their slippers at the edge of their bed, iiiii wore miiiine all day.
    xoxo

  2. I am seeing women wear these things like crazy around here.

It is starting to get cold. Stay warm.

    Take care. Cheers!

  3. I agree, the practicality of Uggs are insane and they just are a really bad habit to break. So, instead of the regular Uggs, I have to agree with you about these sweatery Uggs, perhaps the high ones, they’re actually pretty cute.

I meant to ask you, are you going to the BlogHer holiday party in NYC 12/3? Let me know if you need the invite! I would love to meet you and there are going to be a lot of us bloggers there!

  4. i love UGGs. will never break away because this fashionista doesn’t follow rules and dances to her own beat. yup.

I do love my ugglies, can’t seem to shake em off :)
The worst was when I wore them to San Fran last year – it rained, and rained and rained. They were soaked – I had wet feet all day, ick! And it took like a week to dry them out, crazy!

OK, off to catch up on your posts, I’ve been a bad blogger lately and missing my favourite blogs. LOL, look at me at 2:00am trying to catch up.

Hope you’re having a great week, hon!

  6. I love uggs! There I said it, may the fashion police come arrest me. Can I grab my sweater uggs first, they’d be perf for the slammer.

  7. I love them Clare ! So nice for winter !

  8. Hmm, not a huge fan. Its all about my over the knee boots this winter, hehe.

  9. I have never owned a pair of uggboots…I have never experienced the supposed comfort of these beasts! I am still suck in a “pls no uggs” frame of mind.

@ Sherin – I WANT OVER THE KNEE BOOTS.

  10. So true… I have 2 pairs of UGGs and they are absolutely indispensible to me in the cold winter months!

  11. I HATE UGGS!!!! My sister continues to ask for more pairs to add to her collection every gift giving season, even though she lives in Arizona and so far the only time I have given in is to buy her a pair that looks like moccasins because I am the queen of Native wear and would like the rest of the world to jump on that trend with me, buuuut I REFUSE to buy those moose boots!! (they look like moose feet to me haha)

  12. It’s true- they are SOOO warm!!!

  13. OMG! I own that UGGLY pair only in BLACK!
I confess I am an UGG Addict during Winter, they’re just too toasty and comfy to pass up!:))

  14. lol…I don’t own a pair of uggs but I do see plenty of girls walking around in them. They’re okay compare to the worst shoes ever created..crocs! xoxoxoxxoxo

  15. Uggs are comfy and cute/ugly at the same time. I’m asking for a pair for Christmas :)

  16. Liz

Just today I saw some chick wearing an ultra mini jean skirt & uggs. UGGh indeed.

  17. I’m perfectly aware that they’re ugly, but they keep tootsies oh so toasty warm!

  18. lol my husband thinks these guys are ATROCIOUS and dogs on any woman he sees wearing them (especially those who rock them with mini skirts – so not ideal)

I, on the other hand, am a proud wearer of a gray sweater version, JUST like these :) He knocks me every time I slip em on… but let me tell you

    MY FEET LOVE SOME SWEATERRRRRR

And like the super intelligent first blog commenter, Emily, stated above… While you leave your slippers at the foot of the bed, I wear mine all day! whoop!
