A rose by any other name would smell as sweet

You don’t call a quarterback a “football player”

and a linebacker a “plus sized football player”.

You don’t call a curvy woman “a woman”

and a thin woman “a minus sized woman”.

Despite our penchant to do so, people are not objects

to be placed in categories based on their physical appearance.

So let’s just be real.

And call a model – a model

Regardless of her size.

    AMEN!!!!!

  3. I totally agree! She is gorgeous. And no matter how many sit-ups I do, my tummy still looks like hers…

  4. Well written! I agree 100% with your statement.

  5. Carolina

    I couldn’t agree more!!

  6. Agreed, she’s beautiful.

Although I cannot lie to you or to myself, or anyone else… my instant (and petty) reaction is to nit pick her figure and its imperfections. I guess it’s human nature to be drawn to beauty (in your own eyes) and disappointed with flaw (again, in your own eyes).

I myself am completely imperfect. But I’m still human and still judge. I guess it’s inevitable and unfortunate.

Agreed and very well said. She is gorgeous! Its so funny how people equate stick thin beauty with ideal beauty when its really the imperfections that make beauty so unique and interesting in the first place!

On another note, me neither! …I’ve been obsessed with fashion for years and I had no idea Russia even had a fashion week until two months ago.

  8. Very well written! I agree completely and the joke is that the model pictured is probably a normal size (i.e. if you saw her walking down the street, you’d consider her slim). ‘Model’ is a job description and any additional adjective used is just insulting. I don’t see any other profession being labeled as ‘plus-size’, even though their weight may very well be an issue in their line of work.

  9. Hey there. Great photo. She’s so beautiful. How are you doing today? I hope you’ve been having a fantastic weekend. Take care. Have a great week ahead. Cheers!

  10. amen. I love this post…so incredibly true.

  11. I love you Clara! I am damn sure that that photo should have been so ripe for the photo shopping. Just makes you wonder…so bad.

Sing it sista!! I could not have said it better myself. Kate Dilion has always been beautiful, at all her sizes, and I am sick of the way we label people. It’s just a way for people to put people down while trying to build themselves up. It’s total hog-wash!! Good post.

p.s. I really like that photo of Kate.

  18. Couldn’t have said it better myself! Totally agree!

  19. Hi, just wanted you to know I have added your site to my bookmarks because of your fantastic blog layout (LOL). But seriously, I believe your blog has one of the cleanest theme I’ve came across. It really helps make reading your blog a lot easier.
