I’m Doing Something Pretty Crazy

So you know how I was complaining that I was bored with my blog earlier this week?

I think I found a solution.

And it’s completely insane.

So I am constantly saying that I have too much stuff. I could open up a boutique with my clothes and lots of the clothes I have go unworn because I am constantly buying new stuff.

A lot of this buying cycle I am going to blame on this blog. I always feel like I need something new and exciting for my blog. But in reality, I don’t.

So I have decided I am not going to buy ANY new clothes in 2017. None. Zero. Zip. NONE.

So basically this blog is transforming into a quest to see if I can create a year’s worth of looks with the stuff I already have.

But there is ONE huge caveat. I will continue to do sponsored posts. Sponsored posts keep my blog running, and they often involve clothes. HOWEVER, I am not one of those bloggers who is constantly getting free stuff. *sigh*. So there may be a sponsored shirt once in a while, but I will disclose that like always.

Also — if my coat or something essential gets lost, stolen, or ruined, I am going to buy a new one. I am not freezing to death for this challenge.

So anyway, I guess the sweater pictured below is the last thing I’ll buy! Note: I bought this in December.

Shoes: Frye (similar) | Jeans: Gap | Sweater: J. Crew Factory (I can’t find it online but I love this) | Blazer: J. Crew Factory

What a really interesting challenge! I love it! I read an article recently about how many clothes individuals own today versus 50 years ago. It’s kind of sad all the excess we have stashed away in closets. I know I’m guilty! About a year ago I went from a 2,000 square foot house to a less than 800 square foot apartment. In this process I learned stuff is just that…stuff. Good luck on your creative outfit journey!

OMG what a challenge? Sounds incredible. I wish I could have the will power for this – instead I’ve decided to do as much clothes shopping with cash instead of card as possible.

    Good luck!

I’m so excited to follow your challenge. I’m challenging my self to only shop used clothes this year! Avoiding online shopping is the hardest part.
