The animal print saga

I have a love-hate relationship with animal prints. Sometimes I love them, but other times I think they are basically the worst. This usually makes for fun “blog self-reflection days” which happen when I look back on my blog to see what I can get away with re-wearing. Sometimes, if an animal print outfit catches me on the wrong day, I will be all like, “ewww what is that outfit?! I look like a polyester cat” (because animal print stuff is almost always made from polyester). Then I am all like, I am never wearing that top/skirt/shoes/belt/bracelet/etc. again!

But by the time I make it to my closet to dispose of the offending item, I like animal print again. Thus the cycle repeats.

Good story, right?

I just want to start by saying that no camera can truly do this skirt justice. It is like a bright, crazy, neon color explosion. It is a quintessential Lilly Pulitzer (RIP) piece and I am so excited to own it and wear it all this Summer/Spring.

May I also say that this was my first “stockings-free” day on the blog? Though, I think it might have been a bit premature. It actually wasn’t warm enough to go sans tights and Lilly Pulitzer is an anomaly in Harlem so I was basically freezing and everyone was staring at my crazy skirt. Despite all this, I think my legs were excited about seeing the light of day, even if they did feel like popsicles by the time I got home.

Yes, I’m wearing chambray again. Sorry I’m not sorry.

Flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing. Could it be?? Has Spring finally sprung? It sort of looks like it, though at times it doesn’t feel like it. At this point, though, anything is progress. This weather has been brutal.

Ladies, we are embarking upon warm weather season. Let us not forget to wear pants. I know you want to look cute. I want you to look cute, too — but you should wear pants. It is important to wear pants at all times because you are a classy, fabulous woman and proper bottom-half attire is a requirement.

Leggings might be comfortable, you might also wear them to the gym — but you shouldn’t really wear them anywhere else. Ever. Real pants should always win. Always.

Here are some tips to ensure you are wearing pants at all times.
