Okay, so I am a little bit obsessed with my balcony. Even though it is just a concrete slab with a guard rail and two camping chairs that serve as decor, I happen to think it is very fancy. These lovely Fall days are a perfect time to sit out on the balcony and do some reading and some (responsible — hello! balcony safety, people!) drinking and also some smoking of cigars if you are my husband.

During the day, it is hard to commit to a full-on sparkly look. But one can’t be expected to omit daytime sparkle all together. Luckily, layering season is upon us, so I layered my beloved “Long Island Housewife” sparkle blazer with a jean jacket for a look that is eye catching without being overpowering.

I am not sure if you all know my wedding dressing policy – but it is pretty straightforward. One dress gets purchased for wedding season, and that dress gets worn to every wedding of the year. This year’s wedding guest dress is actually last year’s wedding guest dress because of laziness. Next year I will get a new one. This one is so cute, though! It is lacy and fluffy!
Also, guess what! My creative directin’ husband is here! On the blog! Looking all handsome! This is rare event, y’all. So savor this moment.
I have been dying to try this look since I saw a bride do it on Pinterest ages ago. Then when other bloggers started catching on I knew I had to execute this look, fo sho! The only thing was, I didn’t want a white tulle skirt. It was a bit too bridal-y for me. Luckily, Alexandra Grecco makes her adorable tulle skirt in grey, too! Yay.
I love this look and hope you do too.
Is the title of this post inappropriate? I always feel like a Napoleon Dynamite reference is necessary. Also, these photos were shot at the beautiful Columbia University. So yea, the title is spot on.

Here’s the thing. I straightened my hair specifically for these photos because I wanted to be fancy. So after 45 minutes of flat ironing (and an additional 15 minutes of me being slightly shocked and impressed that there was a time in my life when I used to flat iron my hair all the time) I was ready for my close up.
Then I got outside.
It was so darn windy out there that I thought I was going to blow away. These pictures are some of the select few when my hair wasn’t blowing in the wind like a crazy woman’s. My husband said the wind was “sexy”. But he is too nice for his own good.
OH and another thing. This is my grandmother’s skirt. Thanks grandma!!! xoxo
