A few important things to take note of this fall

A tall Pumpkin Spice Latte has 11 grams of fat and 39 grams of sugar. It also has 11 grams of protein and 40% of your recommended daily calcium intake. So your basic-ness is sort of healthy if you look at it a certain way. As the weather gets cooler, it’s very important to dress appropriately for the weather. Layers are your friends. You know what isn’t cute? The flu. Here are twenty-five ways to tie a scarf. Leggings will never be pants — but leggings make create tights replacements. Especially the lovely, cheap leggings from Forever 21. They are so […]

Fall Layers

I do this every year. I get really excited that it is ‘fall’ and I bust out all my fall clothes. Then I proceed to wear all of my fall clothes at once and complain because I am sweating profusely. The only problem is — despite what the calendar might say, it doesn’t really feel like fall at all. It feels like late-summer with cool winds. When the weather actually gets cold, I will be huddled in my house, standing by the nearest vent pumping out warm air, guzzling hot tea, and begging for summer to come back. But for […]

Friday Fab Four

I would like this sweater, please. It is ruffly fantastic-ness. Will Hannah fully walking, I am a bit of a nervous wreck. She is soooo darn cute toddling around, but she is always hurting herself. Since I can’t wrap her up in saran wrap, I have been doubling my childproofing efforts. I also say a lot of ‘you’re okay!!!!’ when she does take a tumble. If I didn’t that kid would be crying all day! I can’t wait to try out some yummy fall recipes. How good does this look? In sad news, Mode Media, a blogging network I’ve been working with for months, went […]

Pre-Fall Cropped

This is a great time of year because it is still summer but it is a touch cooler so you can get away with mixing fall and summer clothes. Sadly, this weather only lasts for a few months before it gets downright cold and the crop tops need to go away until next summer! Pants: J.Crew (old, but love these) |Top: Sincerely Sweet Boutique | Sunglasses: Amazon

Friday Fab Four

I need to find an affordable version of this sweater. Preferably one with three quarter sleeves. I get annoyed by short sleeved sweaters. You guys, Hannah’s hair is getting so thick and beautiful and curly. But she refuses to let me put a bow in it. Not even a tiny little clip bow! Actually, she refuses to let me style her hair in any way. I was able to put her hair in little curly pig tails for about a half hour the other week. It was a momentous day. But she soon discovered the hair ties and ripped them […]

Blues

I had a pretty busy weekend and wasn’t able to shoot a lot for this week 🙁 #bloggerproblems. But I am excited/sad to break out my new boots for fall! While I love boots, I do NOT love cold weather. At all. Boots: Enzo Angiolini | Skirt: H&M | Top: J.Crew | Necklaces: J.Crew

Entrenched

I found myself getting more and more deeply and personally offended by my pink trench coat. So I went out and got myself a normal trench (on sale — woot!). It was that serious. I feel much better now. Shoes: Necessary Clothing | Skirt: Express (similar in red) | Top (actually a dress) Zara (love this one) | Trench: J. Crew Factory | bag: Vintage Gucci | Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters (old)

Matchy Clashy

So I feel like I might have accidentally pulled this skirt up just a hair too high. These photos kind of make me laugh as a result. Shoes: J.Crew Outlet | Skirt: J. Crew Factory similar | Sweater: Asos | Blazer: J. Crew

Standing in the middle of the street

Here’s a fun fact about photography: Lines create great photos. If you look at most of the photos on Clarabelle, you will notice that there are usually two parallel “lines” flanking me in the background. Did you just go look? I wasn’t joking, right? The two lines are everywhere. Though sometimes Matt can pull it off with one line, two is best. Having two lines centers your subject, creates a perfectly balanced photo, and forces the viewers eye on the primary subject. This is a practice anyone can employ to improve their photos. Lines and light are the two key […]
