A Year in Review

I just couldn’t resist the urge to make cheesy collages to highlight 2012.

What a great year it was!

I got married ♥ I went on a glorious honeymoon ♥ I celebrated three years as a Harlem gangsta ♥ I got bangs ♥ I have been blogging for nearly four years (though, in my humble opinion, I hit my stride this year.)

2012 outfit CollageThis year I tried to introduce way more outfit posts and change this blog from a fashion inspiration blog to more of a style diary. It has been a great journey refining my personal style and showing off my tendency to wear the same thing over and over again on the blog.

Oh, Mexico

I have been taking TONS of photos while we are on our Honeymoon. I think my husband (eek, so weird saying that) is slightly annoyed with the camera endlessly in his face. Also, after the dozens of photos I have taken of him, he  didn’t approve a single one of his beach photos for the blog, lol.

I wanted to share a few favorites so far.

I made it to Virginia!

So my mother (who is a saint), drove from Virginia to NYC to collect Matt, myself, and all of our stuff THEN she drove us all the way back to Virginia. Due to her amazing efforts we have finally made it to my home state! Check out our stellar view.

Oh em gee, right?

Also, I just wanted to let y’all know that I will be blogging a bit less than usual this week because I am getting married on Saturday. THEN, I won’t blog at all next week (unless I do — I might sneak a blog post or two in on my honeymoon because I honestly love blogging that much. Seriously.)

p.s. any more votes on wedding nail colors? I still haven’t decided yet. I did decided that I am getting a gel manicure, though. Anyone have a favorite gel color???

I’m Sketchy

So, I was waiting on the subway  platform with a friend. We were talking and gossiping and then the train came. As we were engulfed in a sea of people boarding the L train, a man handed me a piece of paper. He said, “I drew a picture of you” and I was all like, “Thank you!”.

Below is my drawing:

Awesome, right?! How cool of him to make me a sketch. There is even another person’s face in my hair!

Bloggers Wardrobe

Wonder of wonders! So y’all get this, I opened my e-mail the other day and there, in my inbox, was an invitation for me to join this totally awesome bloggers group called Bloggers Wardrobe. This group reviews clothes and accessories for brands as well as holds meet and greets for bloggers to network. I felt like I had died and gone to the Oscars — but, like, the Oscars for bloggers. Are you still with me? Anyway, moving on…

Of course, there is a catch. They aren’t going to let me just waltz into this group like I own the place –Since my blog is still fairly “new” in terms of popularity I have to actually get in to this group. So I thought I would give it a shot!

Why do I deserve to be a member of Bloggers Wardrobe?? Well, my blog is awesome — it is quirky, snarky and fun. I try my best to make my style and inspiration accessible and wearable. I like to think my readers are like me: girls and guys with champagne tastes and beer pockets. So I strive to show that looking good never has to be expensive. All you need is a little creativity.
