Happy Memorial Day and a big heartfelt thanks to the brave men and women who serve and have served this grand land!
How are you honoring Memorial Day?
Unfortunately, there will be no red, white and blue themed cookouts for me as I will be spending the day packing a honeymoon bag (I am a notoriously inefficient packer, so yes, it will take the whole day). There’s always next year, though!
I’m back, y’all! I am sure you guys are just dying to see what I was up to. So here is a little Instagram recap (nope, still not over my Instagram obsession.)
I did a ton of traveling. Penn Station and I are now best friends.
Popped over to Richmond, Va for a little wedding planning.
attended lovely Christmas parties
I ate — a lot.
I went bowling
I did my hair in these waves to celebrate 2012′s birthday
I got pretty new things to wear
I rung in the New Year with this handsome man.
What did y’all do for the holidays??
♥ wearing: slippers, dark jeans from Zara and a black top from H&M. Keeping it simple.
♥ listening: Shake it Out by Florence and the Machine (I can only do Christmas music for so long.)
♥ reading: The Hunger Games (so good)
♥ watching: Er, nothing really. None of my shows are on anymore!
♥ doing: A lot of of last minute shopping for the holidays.
♥ loving: That I get to go home soon for the holidays. I am so excited for the break!
♥ hating: How cold it was today. I know winter comes every year, but it never gets any better.
♥ wishing: I am not really wishing for anything. Pretty content over here.
♥ wanting: Some of that Lobster fried rice from Buddakan that is waiting in my fridge!
What about you, lovelies?
This year, I had a $20 budget for my holiday dress.
I decided on the same idea for the holidays as I had during wedding season. I plan to wear my holiday dress to every holiday function I have. Luckily, I found this white number at H&M for $25 (only five bucks over my budget!). So I got it — it’s perfect for every holiday function and I haven’t looked back.
I am also kicking around the idea of wearing this number to my rehearsal dinner. But that might be taking my frugality a bit too far.
Dress: H&M | Tights: Nine West | Shoes: Steve Madden | Belt: Borrowed from a friend | Necklace: Macy’s | Other Necklace and earrings: Delia Langan
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was grand and chocked full of laughs provided by my hilarious cousin. So, of course — it’s photo diary time!
Cousin Zoe was REALLY excited to see everyone for Thanksgiving.
Dad wore some great festive socks.
A little sisterly love
A baby Thanksgiving plate. I also realized this is the only good photo I got with food in it. My Thanksgiving priorities are a bit skewed.
Drawing names for Secret Santa!
A little post-dinner entertainment
Tryptophan induced dreams.
4th of July Weekend Photo Journal
I am back, y’all! I had a lovely holiday, but I missed all of you so very much. It feels fantastic to be blogging again.
I spent my Christmas and New Year’s in Virginia with my family. It was a grand time. I compiled a photo diary of the last few weeks below.
This sparkly green Balmain number would turn everyone’s head at your holiday parties, right? I want one!
p.s. It’s snowing on Clarabelle! So romantic.
I can’t believe it is already Thanksgiving week! The holidays always creep up on me and I am always super excited to see them come. Because of the holiday, it will be a short blogging week for me. But I wanted to say what I am thankful for this Thanksgiving:
My family ♥ my lovely friends ♥ my great boyfriend ♥ hot showers on cold days ♥ $5 street pashminas ♥ thin crust pizza ♥ handwritten letters ♥ hot tea with lemon and honey ♥ random compliments from strangers on the street ♥ comfy slippers after a long day ♥ my lovely apartment ♥ fresh sushi ♥ Glee… it can always cheer me up on a Tuesday ♥ Pandora radio during the work day ♥ weekend trips ♥ long walks in the city ♥ hilarious phone calls with close friends ♥ this amazing blog and all of its awesome readers ♥ the fact that it hasn’t gotten too cold… yet ♥ takeout after a long day ♥ the upcoming holiday season
What are you thankful for?
at the present i am…
