Meanwhile on Instagram…

I haven’t done a Instagram post since forever. I have a lot of life updates for y’all!

This is my bridal party before my rehearsal dinner. Don’t they look gorgeous? We clean up well. Also, I managed not to wear my dress until the rehearsal dinner. So I was stain free!

So get this — That is a spinning plane statue right by my job. I waited until the plane looked like it was flying into the street and snapped a photo. I think it looks pretty cool.

After a week in Mexico my hair was kind of a disaster. So I headed over to my Dominican salon and they hooked me up! I took step by step photos to prove it. Turned out pretty well, don’t you think? Hair SAVED!

Isn’t Harlem pretty? This is the view from a bridge near my apt.

My bridesmaids may just kill me for posting this photo. We had JUST woken up and we were “fresh faced” to say the least. Despite our makeup-free look, I just love the Plum Pretty Sugar robes I got these ladies. After they came in the mail, I literally wanted to keep every robe and tell my bridesmaids I lost their gifts in a tragic boating accident. They are all SO CUTE.

The perfect pizza — ’nuff said.

This is my sick stash. I am getting over a terrible cold. I never get sick, y’all and when I do the sickness lasts for, like, a day. This cold lasted for a week (and I still have a gross cough) so it was truly a tragedy. Anyway, I got a ton of supplies. I highly recommend those Burt’s Bees Cough Drops. They are lovely.

I ate these crabcakes at my rehearsal dinner. They were SO good. I was supposed to share one with my husband. That did not happen.

What are you up to??

Instagram Life Update

Hello, friends! I am sorry I have been slacking a bit in the blogging department. I have been so busy planning for the wedding. But don’t worry it will get better.

I wanted to give you a super exciting update about what I have been up to — but now that I look back at the pictures, I realized they are mostly just photos of food.

But I am sharing them anyway.

I went to The Hamptons (Montauk) for the first time ever this weekend. It was a blast! I also learned a few things:

  1. The Hamptons are not in New Jersey — they are on Long Island (who knew??)
  2. Don’t go to Montauk during the Montauk Music Festival. There are way too many subpar singers with acoustic guitars per square mile
  3. Breakfast food in The Hamptons is second to none.
  4. From what I saw, The Hamptons are drop dead gorgeous — but they don’t compare to the Outer Banks. All my Southern ladies say, “yay!”

Also, you might be wondering why this picture of a flower shop represents The Hamptons. Wellll, I kind of forgot to take a photo of the water. My bad — next time.

This dog came to my office and it was basically the greatest day ever. I think all offices should allow dogs at work. Not cats, though. Cats are known to lower company moral. True story, y’all.

One of my favorite things in the world is bread. I consider myself a bit of a bread connoisseur, actually. One of my favorite types of bread is the garlic knot. My fiance brought me an entire bowl of them to eat all by myself. He is the greatest.

One of the stylists at work sent me these flowers as a thank you! They made my office smell like paradise and happiness.

Here is a photo of my block in the rain. You know how in the tropics there is a rainy season and every day it rains and it is the worst thing ever? Well that happens in New York, too. It rains in this city, like, every day in the Spring. The good news is that I now have an excuse to wear my rad rain boots every day. The bad news is that rain in NYC is really foul and it creates these things called “sludge puddles”. These puddles are full of toxic waste and they never ever dry up — even in July when it is about 200 degrees in Manhattan. One time, I accidentally stepped in a sludge puddle. Which means my feet may or may not have radiation poisoning.

I made this. So proud.

What have you been up to?

Instagram Life Update

So I realized that I haven’t done A Week On Instagram in, like, weeks. Try to forgive me. I forgot. So I am here to make up for it. Here goes:

I ate this Mexican Sundae from one of my favorite Mexican places ever, Gabriella’s, with my fiance. It was a-mazing.

I saw this person sleeping like the dead on the subway. I found it hilarious. So I took a photo of him/her.

I went to go see my friend Jen’s twin brother do dueling pianos at what was probably the sketchiest bar in Manhattan. The show was awesome but, alas, at one point I had to go to bathroom. When I went in I saw this. I am not sure why this would ever be necessary. Ever.

I ate a lot of Girl Scout Cookies. Then I realized I actually don’t like Girl Scout Cookies. I just eat them because everyone else likes them and I desperately want to be cool. Personally, I find them a bit dense and hard and flavorless — they have that transparent, mass produced taste. When I caught myself eating a sleeve of Thin Mints by myself on the couch while watching My Fair Wedding with David Tutera, I understood that I would never stop eating Girl Scout cookies; even if they  taste like cookie flavored cardboard product.

I bought my first designer nail polish because I am rich. Actually, no — I am the opposite of rich. I had a gift card. So I got to pretend I was rich by buying something that a rich person would buy with actual money. This color is called Graphite and it is the best. I mean don’t get me wrong — it doesn’t compare to my Essie Sugar Daddy, but it is a distant second.

I went home for  a wedding dress fitting and got to eat my moms food. YUMMAH!

I read this book on the train and cried like a child in front of everyone. I tried to hide it by intently looking out the window to admire the lovely Virginia countryside, but no one was fooled. Dang you, Kazuo Ishiguro, and your award-winning, incredibly moving prose!

Lent ended! So I ate all of this candy I had been hoarding for forty days.

I did my bridal hair test! My amazing stylist (who is also my cousin, y’all) hooked me up with a style that won’t make me look like I am competing for Miss Mississipi Fair at my wedding. #Hurray

Okay, you are all updated! What have you been up to?

An Instagram Bachelorette Weekend

Yesterday, I returned from Hilton Head Island after an amazing Bachelorette weekend. There was lots of fun and relaxing and eating of food. Lots and lots of food was eaten.

Check out the photos:

First, meet my bridal party! Starting from the left you have my Maid of Honor (and my sister) Jules, then my two bridesmaids Victoria and Cristie. We are a small group, but we pack a big punch.

I arrived to this STUNNING welcome table!

Then we all got to meet Victoria’s Great Dane/Lab mix, Gretta! The sweetest most lovely dog ever.

I really enjoyed Gretta. Really, really, really. She was just so sweet!

Then we headed over to our hotel on Hilton Head Island. Check out the VIEW!

And we went out on the town

And I wore this Bride pin.

We ate some chocolate fondu

We saw a parrot.

I was REALLY excited about our dolphin cruise.

Last, but certainly not least, I was reunited with Chick-fil-a — the finest dining establishment in the world.

A Week on Instagram

A holiday inspired red lip, y’all.

FINALLY got a HP poster for my office. Now, whenever I feel like I am having a bad day, I can just think of Harry Potter and how The Dark Lord tried to kill him, like, a million times. Then things won’t seem so bad.

Gaga’s Workshop at Barney’s. Walk by it daily but have yet to go in.

Completely gratuitous bathroom shot.

Living art in Port Authority

I just made this chicken noodle soup! The perfect comfort food. Yummmah!
