Instagram Life Update

So I realized that I haven’t done A Week On Instagram in, like, weeks. Try to forgive me. I forgot. So I am here to make up for it. Here goes:

I ate this Mexican Sundae from one of my favorite Mexican places ever, Gabriella’s, with my fiance. It was a-mazing.

I saw this person sleeping like the dead on the subway. I found it hilarious. So I took a photo of him/her.

I went to go see my friend Jen’s twin brother do dueling pianos at what was probably the sketchiest bar in Manhattan. The show was awesome but, alas, at one point I had to go to bathroom. When I went in I saw this. I am not sure why this would ever be necessary. Ever.

I ate a lot of Girl Scout Cookies. Then I realized I actually don’t like Girl Scout Cookies. I just eat them because everyone else likes them and I desperately want to be cool. Personally, I find them a bit dense and hard and flavorless — they have that transparent, mass produced taste. When I caught myself eating a sleeve of Thin Mints by myself on the couch while watching My Fair Wedding with David Tutera, I understood that I would never stop eating Girl Scout cookies; even if they  taste like cookie flavored cardboard product.

I bought my first designer nail polish because I am rich. Actually, no — I am the opposite of rich. I had a gift card. So I got to pretend I was rich by buying something that a rich person would buy with actual money. This color is called Graphite and it is the best. I mean don’t get me wrong — it doesn’t compare to my Essie Sugar Daddy, but it is a distant second.

I went home for  a wedding dress fitting and got to eat my moms food. YUMMAH!

I read this book on the train and cried like a child in front of everyone. I tried to hide it by intently looking out the window to admire the lovely Virginia countryside, but no one was fooled. Dang you, Kazuo Ishiguro, and your award-winning, incredibly moving prose!

Lent ended! So I ate all of this candy I had been hoarding for forty days.

I did my bridal hair test! My amazing stylist (who is also my cousin, y’all) hooked me up with a style that won’t make me look like I am competing for Miss Mississipi Fair at my wedding. #Hurray

Okay, you are all updated! What have you been up to?

I met a pig, y’all

For those of you who follow me on Instagram and Facebook, you already know about how I met a pig. You are probably all like, “Omgah, CLARE, get over the stupid pig you randomly saw on the street. No one cares anymore.

Well, I don’t be carin’ bout yo opinion, foo’! I met a pig and that news must be blogged!

So here is how it happened: I was walking down the fine, gold paved streets of Harlem when my fiance goes, “Oh, there’s a pig.”

He said it in such a casual, distant manner, too — like he was saying, “That’s my jacket.” or “Let’s pick up some chicken at the store.”

I, of course, made a big spectacle of the whole thing. I mean LOOK — A PIG! On the STREET! Being walked with a LEASH! Like a dog that can also be made into bacon! A M A Z I N G ! !

The pig was a jolly, old, soul that tore alarmingly large hunks of grass from the tree beds and ate said grass like I was completely boring her with my presence.

She loved me. I knew it.  So I  proceeded to take about fifteen pictures of her.

Her owner, a crazy (seriously) old lady I hadn’t really noticed before she started speaking (so rude of me), was all like, “Do you want to feed her?”

Ummmmm YES!

So I fed the pig!! I fed her these little pellets of something. And then I petted the pig and her hair was like nasty wire. I didn’t really like petting the pig to be perfectly honest. Then, I put on my best newsboy hat and said, “That’ll  do pig, that’ll do.“.

Actually, I didn’t do that last bit with the newsboy hat.

So that was my weekend!

How was your weekend???

Instagram Life Update!

Remember that time when I was dutifully updating you on my life’s amazing adventures via a series of immaculately captured Instagram photos? Yea well, sorry I stopped doing that. But I am BACK and me and my iphone are about to blow your mind with Instagram amazingness.

I brought home these macaroons for my fiance to try. He really liked them. He ate like three of them in five minutes.

One of these days I am going to go ice skating at Rock Center. But whenever I see that rink, I have visions of myself desperately clutching the side rail while my bird legs wiggle and slide all around — similarly to that model that fell on the runway a few years ago.

Speaking of NYFW, I met Rumi Neely from Fashion Toast. She was moderately nice.

Here’s a completely gratuitous NYFW backstage photo. So purdy!

Also, we had this really amazing party at work with pink cake, and pink flowers, and pink champagne, and lovely men in wife beaters. Woot.

Fiance got me this David Yurman bangle for our engagement anniversary! He’s the best.

I found a typo on my Tazo tea label! I wonder if they will send me a lifetime supply of tea for calling them out!

I also ate chicken and waffles

Then  ate this shrimp stuff.

So that’s what I have been up to? What have you guys been doing???

♥ wanting: Some of that Lobster fried rice from Buddakan that is waiting in my fridge!

What about you, lovelies?

A Week on Instagram

A holiday inspired red lip, y’all.

FINALLY got a HP poster for my office. Now, whenever I feel like I am having a bad day, I can just think of Harry Potter and how The Dark Lord tried to kill him, like, a million times. Then things won’t seem so bad.

city lights

Gaga’s Workshop at Barney’s. Walk by it daily but have yet to go in.

Completely gratuitous bathroom shot.

Living art in Port Authority

I just made this chicken noodle soup! The perfect comfort food. Yummmah!

Dance Everywhere!

My sister posted this on my mom’s FB wall and I just had to share. New York photographer Jordan Matter’s “Dancers Among Us” project features performers from the Paul Taylor Dance Company performing guerrilla dance moves in iconic Manhattan locations. These photos are AMAZING.

The Ballerina Project

This is such a gorgeous concept. This guy takes stunning photos of ballerinas in urban settings. Here is his description of the project from his Facebook page:

“The Ballerina Project grew from the idea of New York City as a magnet for creativity; each photograph is a collaborative work of dance, fashion design and photography played out against the city’s landscape.”

This one is my fave because it is in my neighborhood.
