2013 was a really great year for Clarabelle. I have all of you to thank for that, as well as my dear husband who is just the greatest photographer in the whole world.
Here are some of my favorite looks from 2013. I want to emphasize the word some because it was really hard to choose just twelve. I like all of the looks!
look one, look two, look three, look four, look five, look six, look seven, look eight, look nine, look ten, look eleven, look twelve
In the wise words of Tobias Fünke, “I’m afraid I just blue myself.”
Sometimes, a girl just has to own wearing blue from head to toe.
So, it is has been really hot lately. I actually like the heat, but inside my apt I like it to be more temperate. I have been using my AC units like crazy and I just know I am gonna look at my power bill next month and be all like:
Anyway, these photos were taken on my new building’s roof top! It is so lovely up there (and there are lounge chairs — I love a nice lounge chair.) and I always forget about it. I need to make sure i spend plenty of time up there before the summer ends.

This past weekend was straight up rain all day err’day in NYC. But I had a hair appointment that was tragically overdue so I went despite the weather.
My hair stylist was all like, “Wow! You are brave. It’s so rainy today.”
And then I was like, “Well, it isn’t raining Nair, so I think I’ll be all right.” Because I am so witty and I always have so many witty things to say, you see.
Well, as usual — the lady who has spent the last three years transforming my hair from a dry, breaking, rat’s nest into something moderately presentable was right. Approximately five seconds after leaving the shop, the beautiful, soft curls she gave me fell into a frizzy stick-straight disaster, just in time for me to shoot my outfit post.
So I got my nails done to make up for it — definitely a sound investment.
ANYWAY — on to my outfit. I had been seeing this skirt in every H&M window in NYC and I just HAD to make it mine. It is the best. You should buy it immediately for the sake of your happiness.

These photos were taken at the now defunct Lenox Lounge in Harlem. Since it was such a major hotspot in the neighborhood, the community was pretty depressed when it shut down. However, there are whispers that it is making its triumphant return down the block at a venue that charges less rent.

I would like to take a moment to commend the amazing men and women of the fashion blogging universe for taking outfit photos all year ’round. That ish is hard. So hard, I have developed the dreaded freezing fists.
What is freezing fists you ask?
Well, friend, freezing fists happen when you go out to take outfit photos and your fists get so cold that they involuntarily ball up into tiny frozen fists in a commendable, but ultimately failing, effort to warm themselves. Freezing fists are often found in every outfit photo taken between the months of November and March. Please see the photo below for an in-depth analysis:
See if you can spot freezing fists in the rest of the pictures below.

So you may remember how I wanted to insert more color into my wardrobe in 2012. I bought this dress from H&M that is perfect for work or to go out. I am really excited for Spring when I can wear it without the jacket. The dress has such a great shape! I will be sure to blog it, in full, once the weather gets warmer and I can really show it off. Until then, here’s a little preview of my new green dress.
