Cozy Casual

This is one of my favorite sweaters. I got it at the now defunct C.Wonder, but it is so thick and lush and warm. The only issue is it sheds all over my sticky little baby. Whenever I wear this sweater I find black fibers between her little fingers (and toes — not sure how that happens) and all over her clothes. So I don’t wear it as much as I would like because I don’t want a fuzzy baby. I mean, I would mind if she was fuzzy naturally but I don’t want a synthetically fuzzy baby. A Bold Winter

You don’t have to spend the entire winter wearing all black (though it is perfectly acceptable to do so). Sometimes, you need something bold to get you through the Polar Vortex. I especially love this skirt because it was made by a Beyonce-approved Brooklyn-based designer. Anything Beyonce loves, I also love. Like hot sauce in my bag and baby hair and afros. Obvi. Also, lets talk about this new chambray I’m wearing. You all know I am a bit of a chambray expert. This chambray top I got from Humble Chic is a new fave. It’s lightweight, super soft and it has pearl buttons. […]

Winter Hodgepodge

Winter is a bummer, but it is also a great time to taken fashion risks in the name of staying warm. This look is a hodgepodge of some of my favorite black and white warm pieces. Also, the boots are a post-blizzard necessity. The city of Richmond is not the best with snow removal and the residual patches of ice are no joke. The last thing I need is to slip and fall and get run over my Hannah’s stroller.Shoes: L.L. Bean | Dress (worn as a skirt): eShakti, love this one | Sweater: J.Crew Factory (old, but this one […]

Dreary

Between the wind and rain the weather has been working against me. However, I am thankful for milder Virginia winters. I mean NYC is the greatest town ever, but the winters really tested my spirit. And my ‘tested’ I mean NYC winters crushed my spirit into the cold, hard pavement. So I’ll take a little wind and rain if I get milder temps in return. Also I promise I won’t talk about the weather every day this week. Hat: H&M | Leggings: Gap (similar) | Chambray: J. Crew Factory | Coat: Zara (similar)| Necklace: Bloomingdales (similar)

Blowing In The Wind

The wind is one of my biggest weather enemies. Nothing turns me into a tangled, disheveled mess more quickly than a strong wind. You know how people get all excited to ride in the car with the top down? Everyone is like, “Oooh, let’s put the top down on the car and drive on the highway. So fun! I love the outdoors.” And I am over in the corner like — no. No one wants to see my hair after a 65 mph wind and some car exhaust has torn through it. So anyway, you have to forgive my poor hair […]

End of Winter Layers

This top has gotten me through the winter. It is warm, structured enough to conceal the bump and it goes with everything! The downside? It is dry clean only, and I spill something on it every single time I wear it. Also, can we talk about my new Jord watch for just one second? It is made from solid wood, is super cute, and it smells really good. I know that is weird, but the fresh wood smells so nice! Shoes: J. Crew Factory (love these) | Pants: H&M Maternity | Top: C. Wonder (now closed, but love this one) […]

End of Winter Brights

Oh hey, it’s your favorite puffy-faced pregnant friend checking in to tell you that I’ve officially broken out my spring colors. I just can’t bear to wear another black sweater! Shoes: Piperlime | Dress: C. Wonder (now closed, but this one is similar) | Coat: J. Crew Factory | Bag; Persifor: (old, but love her new ones)

Bump, meet The Internet

You guys, we have a lot to cover in this post. First, I’m pregnant! Yayayayayay! To answer your FAQs: She’s a girl. She’s due in late June. We have a name but it’s not ready to be shared on the Internet just yet. No, we aren’t moving. Yes, we have a room for her (and a bathroom, too!). I feel fine 🙂 just tired, and really out of breath. Matt is just as excited as me and super supportive! Also, this post was supposed to coming to you from our fabulous Charleston babymoon. But the day we were supposed to leave our […]

Levain Bakery Treats and a Fuzzy Photo Bomber

There is a Levain Bakery in my ‘hood that I am more than slightly obsessed with. The treats there are ALL delicious. Every one of them. I would know because I have tried each one. So my husband and I decided to hit up Levain for a delicious breakfast treat and the grumpiest little dog comes and photo bombs our shoot! Despite the dog’s grumpy demeanor, I do think we had a connection. He was all about posing for the camera and generally being lovely. But isn’t his face just the grumpiest?! I mean that face is all kinds of judgey and shade-throwing. […]

Cute Little Bears

If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know already that I am a sucker for a top with tiny animals on it. Recently, I have been loving Anthropologie’s critter blouses. They are so soft and flowy, and a great way to add some visual interest to your outfit. Also, sorry for the lack of smiling in most of these photos. It was so windy out, when the cold air hit my teeth it was like, ‘ouch!!’. So I had to ‘smize’ instead. I am not very good at smizing, so yea. Booties: C. Wonder (ps everything […]
